Our services are performance based and the successful candidates will be required to...
- Research and develop, in consultation with the client, the optimal set of keywords and search strings for their website.
- Modify the existing website's code to include the optimizations. This includes very much more than the meta tags and other header content and you must be completely adept with handcoding HTML and very knowledgeable of other text-based code to avoid altering the appearance or damaging the functioning of the web document in any way.
- Apply the optimized code to the client's website if they wish you to do so. A thorough understanding of FTP procedures and extreme care will be needed.
- Perform ongoing promotional techniques in the background. This constitutes the bulk of your time spent on a project. Elaboration will be provided to the successful candidates.
- Provide accurate and timely ranking reports and followups to clients.
- Provide professional, expert and rapid support, via email and/or via telephone, in response to all customer enquiries.
- Continue working on websites during the entire service period until and after they have met the targeted position on search engines.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date and readily-accessible records and correspondence relating to all websites in your caseload.
- Maintain current and complete knowledge base of search engines and related technology. We will provide you with a solid foundation in this area.
The chosen candidates will have the following qualities and will have or will be quick to learn the following skills...
- An extremely thorough and up-to-date knowledge of all search engines and related technology.
- Complete competence with HTML. FrontPage and other WYSIWYG addicts need not apply. NotePad/Handcoders preferred.
- A strong knowledge of and comfort with other text-based languages including but not limited to JavaScript, CSS, ASP, Perl, etc.
- Familiarity with Allaire HomeSite, WSFTP, and other related software preferred but not essential.
- A high degree of professionalism in dealing with clients and other contacts as well as other team members.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A solid understanding of internet technology.
- Willingness to work hard and often long hours.
- Ability to handle a large caseload, growing to many websites in your portfolio over the course of a year.
- Ability to manage yourself and deliver the service proactively, without the need for supervision.
This position would suit someone with a web design/development background, but it's important for you to realize that we deal solely with optimizing websites and promoting them on search engines. You will not be asked to do graphic design nor to create any websites, only to optimize and promote them. You should also note that you will be working closely with the client and the highest degrees of professionalism and courtesy are an absolute must.
